SHAH ALAM, 24 November 2015 – Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) in collaboration with Shell has launched the Shell-Hyundai Helix HX 7 AH and Shell-Hyundai Ultra AH engine oils, which are specially formulated for Hyundai vehicles. Available in synthetic base and fully synthetic versions, these specially formulated engine oils function to optimise the performance of Hyundai engines by enhancing engine fuel economy and cooling performance, stabilizing lubricity under extreme temperature as well as offering excellent oxidation protection.
The Shell-Hyundai specially formulated engine oils are made suitable for engines running on petrol, diesel, NGV, bio-diesel and ethanol blends. With these newly launched engine oils, customers can expect better performance and maintenance of their vehicles. The engine oils will be rolled-out in stages to all Hyundai authorized service centres in Peninsular Malaysia starting December 2015 and in East Malaysia starting January 2016.
According to Shell Lubricants General Manager – Malaysia and Singapore, Leslie Ng, the decision by HSDM was a clear endorsement of the premium quality of Shell Helix motor oils and part of a global partnership with Hyundai Motor Company that saw Shell became the exclusively recommended aftermarket motor oil supplier for Hyundai vehicles worldwide.
“We are delighted to supply HDSM with high-quality motor oils that offer proven benefits to Hyundai owners in the form of superior engine performance and protection; cleaner engines and better fuel economy. Malaysia will be among 70 markets around the world that will see co-branded motor oils manufactured by Shell recommended in Hyundai workshops and made available to customers,” he said.
Launch of ‘My Hyundai Care App’ & ‘Hyundai Care Programme’
Along with the launch of the Shell-Hyundai engine oils is the launch of the My Hyundai Care App - Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors’ (HSDM) very own mobile app, which aims to provide customers with the convenience of obtaining automobile service on their mobile devices.
“Launching a mobile app is not only timely but necessary in this digital age where mobile technology has become a necessity,” said Mr Lau Yit Mun, Managing Director of HSDM. “With Hyundai’s very own app, accessing information and requesting for service is made so much more convenient on a mobile device. It also reduces the hassle of making a phone call to book a service and it also reduces human errors on our operations part,” added Mr Lau.
The My Hyundai Care App offers a host of services such as the next service reminder via push notification no later than a week before the next service date; making a service appointment with options to select your preferred service centre; keeping track of service history and also with a SOS call function in times of emergency and to activate the 24/7 roadside assist. That’s not all the app has to offer. From the app, customers will also be informed of new Hyundai models that will be launched, service campaign and promotions as well as technical service campaign for relevant models.
Available for download on iOS and Google Play, the My Hyundai Care App is free for downloading starting 1st December 2015.
To further improve customer satisfaction, HSDM has also launched ‘Hyundai Care Programme’, a revised periodic maintenance service schedule that will make car servicing more cost effective while reducing the servicing time. ‘Hyundai Care Programme’ will apply to all vehicles purchased in 2016.
‘Hyundai Care Programme’ consists of three (3) packages:
